Size
50 x 35 x 83 cm
This majestic 33-inch handcrafted silver Ganesha is a resplendent tribute to India's artistic heritage. Crafted entirely by hand using the ancient repoussé technique, every intricate detail––from the subtle contours to the ornate flourishes––has been painstakingly shaped from pure silver sheets, devoid of molds or machines. Inspired by the elegant Hoysala style, renowned for its fluidity and architectural richness, this masterpiece is the culmination of 84 months of dedication by a single master silversmith. As one of the last remaining metal artisans from Mysore, he has carried forward a tradition passed down through generations, echoing the timeless principles of Shilpashastra, the classical Indian canon of sculpture.

Every element of this magnificent Ganesha, from the serene expression to intricate ornamentation, has been shaped by hand, imbuing the piece with a unique vitality. Such grandeur was once reserved for the sacred sanctums of temples or royal treasuries. Today, it stands as a testament to human devotion, artistic perseverance, and the enduring spirit of Mysore's fading traditions.

The Craft
Silver Smithing

It became a kind of equaliser, differentiated only by design and motifs. At the core of this is silver smithing, the art of creating artefacts from sheets of sterling or pure silver.
