Traditional Persian Ivory Mahal Kashmir Silk Hand-Knotted Carpet

At 2.5 × 4 ft, this Kashmir silk carpet has a rust floral border around an ivory field of blossoms, birds and small leafy forms. Kashmir weavers hand-knot the silk keeping the drawing compact and precise. There is something poised about the dark-blue outlines against the pale ground.
