Description

The large blue medallion is set against ivory on this 4 × 6 ft Kashmir silk carpet. A pale rosette and small flowers are visible among scrolling vines in warm gold, sage and rust. Kashmir weavers hand-knot the silk at 576 knots per square inch. There is something precise about blue against ivory panels. Place it by a velvet armchair, with honeyed walnut and a shaded brass lamp.
