Description

A weaver centres a rust lozenge on this wool-and-cotton dhurrie's cream field, edging it with black hooks and filling it with florals and geometric marks. Branching stems and black panels are worked through the border as the weaver compacts each pass with a panja. There is something playful about one large form filled with many small motifs. Leather, blackened metal and terracotta suit it well.
