Traditional Oushak Dark Brown Jaipur Wool Hand-knotted Rug

Jaipur's weavers adopted Persian knotting techniques in the 1500s and bent them to their taste: a large ivory star medallion at the centre of this rug, pendant shapes above and below it, set into a dark brown field. The pile is left thick, deep enough to blur a footstep. There is something grounding about a brown this dark in a large room. Rosewood or dark oak furniture, with a sand wall behind.
