Description

A weaver places three hexagonal medallions in sage, terracotta and mustard down the black field of this dhurrie, enclosing them within a red border of small ivory and sage crosses. The weaver compacts jute and wool with a panja into a flat, firm surface. There is something orderly about the three aligned forms. Black-stained oak, woven cane, red ceramics and warm metal suit it well.
