Tarkashi

India’s traditional craftsmanship is a testament to the creativity and precision of its artisans. One such remarkable art form is Tarkashi, an intricate metal inlay work on wood that dates back centuries.

At Swadesh, we bring you a meticulously curated collection of Tarkashi artifacts, blending history, elegance, and functionality into everyday living. Each piece is a tribute to the artisans who have preserved this exquisite craft for generations.

The Legacy of Tarkashi

Tarkashi is an age-old technique of adorning wooden surfaces with fine brass or wood, creating intricate geometric and floral patterns. Originating from Rajasthan, this craft flourished under royal patronage and has remained a symbol of opulence and heritage.

Traditionally used to embellish furniture, doors, and decorative items, Tarkashi continues to captivate with its intricate detailing and artistic finesse. The contrast between the warm tones of the wood and the shimmering metal creates a visual harmony that is both captivating and timeless.

We celebrate this artistry by offering a collection that honors the past while embracing modern sensibilities. Whether you are looking for elegant home decor or functional wooden artifacts, our Tarkashi range seamlessly blends cultural richness with contemporary appeal.
